Animating History

Graphic Design Studio at Western Washington University
Students animated a favorite item from The Archive
First-year BFA Design students in Western Washington University’s Department of Design researched and animated artifacts from the People’s Graphic Design Archive as part of their introductory Motion Design course. Students were asked to explore an alternative graphic design history and imagine it in motion. Guided by faculty member Kacey Morrow, students integrate their research with experiments in Photoshop, After Effects, and other tools to make posters come to life.
