The packaging for New Super Mario Bros. includes an instruction manual and a game cartridge. This game was Nintendo's remake of their classic game to fit with the popular 3-D rendered graphics of the early 2000s. The spirit of the game is captured in the bright colors, high contrast, and exaggerated action shots. The background is one seen in the game and also features many of the enemies users may encounter. The type is a stylized sans serif with a black drop shadow creating a 3-D effect. To distinguish it from their earlier game, Nintendo included the word “New” in a spiked yellow circle. The title of the game is a sort of logo in itself, as the style does not change across different media or resizing.
