The very first Public Service Announcement (PSA) produced to aid in forest fire prevention in the United States was created by James Montgomery Flagg, who was the creator of the World War I recruitment poster featuring a personification of Uncle Sam. The figure depicted in this poster bears a striking resemblance to Flagg's depiction of Uncle Sam.
