Colorful illustration is Horiguchi’s famous drawing style. He conveys fantasy through the drawings in this book. By illustrating the fantasy that everyone has imagined at least once, he aims to make the invisible visible through his art.
Even though this book focuses on the elephant Gurunpa, readers would be attracted by his illustration. The kindergarten where the elephant plays with children doesn't exist, but Horiguchi manages to convey a situation that feels as if it could exist in the real world.
