Star vs the Forces of Evil was an American animated magical girl TV series created by Daron Nefcy which aired on Disney XD and Disney Channel from January 18, 2015 –May 19, 2019. The show was about a 14-year-old princess named Star Butterfly who received the family heirloom of the royal magic wand. After some mishaps with the wand at the kingdom, her parents decide to send her to earth where it's safer. She then goes to a high school on earth and meets her best friend and roommate, Marco Diaz. Together they fight the forces of evil that try and steal Star's wand. This series was the first Disney XD series to be created by a woman, and the third overall for Disney Television Animation (following Pepper Ann from 1997 and Doc McStuffins from 2012).
