Notes: The colouring comes first since there are only white, purple, black, red, and dark grey that I can name all of the colours used. The red crossing line looks like a big letter X, which makes us think that the criminals who sentenced to death. Next to the red X, there is “る (ru),” a Japanese hiragana character is written. Readers cannot understand what this character means before reading this book, so this letter can be a hint for the reader. The purple, airy, swirling pattern probably represents the atmosphere and texture of this book. Since this book is talking about the death sentence, it is appropriate for expressing the uneasiness of the death penalty.
