| Biographic information about this designer: | Born in Takasaki, Gunma Prefecture in 1944. Graduated from the Department of Crafts, Faculty of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts, majoring in visual design. After working in the advertising department of Shiseido, he went independent in 1971. His works are held in many art museums both in Japan and abroad. He is known for his unique style of expression, described as "ultra-oriental," but in recent years he has been expressing himself freely without being bound by that style. |
