Takuya Onuki was given the job to create a poster for the Toshimaen swimming pool. "The Pool Is Cold," a play on the phrase "The Beer Is Cold," and an illustration of a penguin. The result was a big hit with the public, with some even saying, "This is the ultimate advertisement!" This design established him as an advertising creator, abandoning his artistic side.
