Yasuji Hanamori (花森安治)

Born in Kobe City, Japan in 1911

Attended the Department of Aesthetics and Art History at the Faculty of Letters at Tokyo Imperial University. Hanamori had a long-standing dream to be a newspaper editor and reporter and did this type of work often throughout university. There, he met Shigejiro Sano, who a painter making advertisements and often worked with him and learned with him about painting and commercial design. Once World War II began, he worked in the propaganda department of the Taisei Wing Praise Association which following the war, he deeply regretted and that led to the establishment of this magazine. He holds many professional titles of being an editor, graphic designer, journalist, and copyrighter.
