Santana's Abraxas album cover is well recognized for its psychedelic design history. This was Santana's second studio album, released on September 23, 1970, by Columbia Records.

The artwork Showcases “Annunciation”, which is a 1961 painting by Mati Klarwein, a German French psychedelic surrealist. This work reflects afro Caribbean, religious and erotic symbolism, mirroring the albums musical content which mixes Latin rock, Jazz, and the blues.
