Playboy Magazine Cover, May 1954
This is a Playboy Magazine cover from May 1954. What makes this particular cover standout from the rest is the fact that it does not feature photography of the sex icons of the time but rather features a suggestive collage. This collage in my opinion is the most overt depiction of how Playboy viewed women at the time. Their only function was to sexually please men as seen in the innuendo of the woman watering the Mr. Playboy's flower. Playboy Magazine has long been a symbol of how many people perceive female sexuality and I think this cover is especially unique.
