Le Chat Noir
This poster was created by the Swiss artist, Theophile-Alexandre Steinlen (1859-1923), in 1896. “Le Chat Noir” was created during the Art Nouveau movement. This poster was titled “Tournée du Chat Noir de Rodolphe Salis”, and is also referred to as “Le Chat Noir”. This poster is a lithograph print and is 54 x 37 1/2in. This print was created as an advertisement for the night club “Le Chat Noir (The Black Cat)”, which was located in Paris, France. Steinlen is most famous for his graphic artwork and is well known for his love of cats, which was often displayed in his art.
