Some of the earliest corporate visual branding in Vietnam, extending back to before 1945, is represented by these Shell advertisements. They show how modern advertising methods, such big posters and outdoor marketing, were brought to Vietnam at a period when print media was one of the best ways to get the word out about a company. These ads provide us a look at how graphic design has changed in Vietnam over time. Unfortunately, we don't know who made them or what media they were made in, but they show how big companies transformed their visual advertising to reach local audiences.
The Shell Energy Corporation arrived very early in Vietnam and widely promoted its brand image to the public.
The Shell advertisement was placed at a gas station.
