About the Designer
Michael Patrick Cronan (1951–2013) was a highly influential brand strategist and designer. Beyond this 1980s identity work, he is most famously known for:
- Naming Iconic Brands: He and his partner Karin Hibma coined the names TiVo and Kindle.
- Logo Design: He designed the "smiling TV" logo for TiVo.
- Diverse Clients: His firm, Cronan, worked with major organizations including Apple, Levi Strauss & Co., and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA).
- Product Design: He co-founded the clothing line Walking Man, which received international design awards.
