Flower Boy (2017)
Album covers tend to be an overlooked form of design. The Grammys only just created a category in 2026 to highlight the best album covers of the year. The crossover of music artist and designer is something that tends to be ignored and overlooked. While lots of music artists have designers that work on these covers, some tend to be a huge part of the creative process and or are the creator of the album cover themselves. It is important to understand the crossover of designers and music artists, in this day, one cannot fully exist without the other.
Flower Boy is an album that resparked and increased Tyler’s fame. With his dreamlike sounds and visuals that this album has, he created a new era of aesthetic. This album cover features Tyler with his face being covered by a giant bee. His identifier being that he wears his signature clothes. His car sits on the road far below where he is standing in a sunflower field, and a sky that fades from yellow to red with gorgeous clouds in the sky. There is also a swarm of bees around him. This album doesn’t have any text telling you what the title is, but what better to represent Flower Boy than a boy standing in flowers. This is another album cover that is painted, the artist being Eric White.
