Promotional showcard produced by Chloride Batteries Limited in England, for their UK manufactured ‘Exide’ Long Life Battery.
Exide invented and produced the world's first starter battery in 1912, in the USA for the Cadillac Model Thirty. The introduction of the ‘electric starter’ eliminated hand-cranking for engine starting – a hazardous manual task that was unpopular with everyone, but especially ladies. This explains the illustration of a lady holding a starting handle and the message.
