This early 1900s publication of Sesame and Lillies features an ornate silver embossed design. Unlike many elaborate book covers from the era which utilizes gold embossed design on a black ground, Sesame and Lillies stands out with its brown ground and silver embossing.
Organic line work forms a naturalistic border around the title, comprised of trees, lilies, and waves. Naturalistic letterforms and dashes help to embed the title within the design while negative space draws attention to it.
