Byrds, Byrds, Byrds, 1967

This  poster is by Wes Wilson and was made for the band The Byrds, a folk rock band prominent in the 1960s alongside the Beach Boys and Beatles. At the time, The Byrds were a well-known folk-rock band that combined acoustic and electric sounds. This poster commemorated their visit to Los Angeles following the publication of their fourth album, Younger Than Yesterday, which featured the smash single "So You Want to Be a Rock and Roll Star." Wes Wilson, considered as the pioneer of the psychedelic poster, was noted for his signature "melting" typeface, which was inspired by Art Nouveau and Alfred Roller. It includes visual satire with disguised birds and repetitive use of the band's name. This design, inspired by Roller's calligraphy, was one of Wilson's favorites from the almost 60 posters he designed for Bill Graham's Fillmore performances.
