Oracular Spectacular (Album Cover)

The album cover for MGMT's major label debut, Oracular Spectacular released in 2007. The photo used for the album's front cover features the duo's members from left to right: Ben Goldwasser and Andrew VanWyngarden, dressed in primitive outfits against a beach setting at sunset. The back cover features the duo accompanied by several others dressed in similarly primitive clothing, standing in the water and looking on as the duo throw torches. The inside spread depicts Goldwasser and VanWyngarden playing with money

The front photograph was taken by Sam Fleischner, as stated in the album's liner notes. These photos were taken during the music video shoot for the band's debut singe, ‘Time to Pretend,' near Jacob Riis Park in Brooklyn. The cover features the band logo, set in a block-letter like font. The logo font is custom, drawn by VanWyngarden, as stated in an 2009 interview at the Orange Warsaw Festival.
