Athra Newspaper

Athra is a Lebanese newspaper that was published in Arabic, Assyrian, English and French,  covering international political events. In many cases, English titles were set up or influenced by the British or the French. The structure and typography of the front page is reminiscent of early 1900s avant-garde advertising with its high structure and sans serif, geometric type. There is no imagery, and the page is very text-heavy. The image shows the front page of the paper issued on April 15th, 1939.
