OCR-A

OCR-A typeface designed by Adrian Frutiger. One of the first digital typefaces designed for computers (1968). Meant to be readable to humans as well as computers since fonts were hard for computers to read at the time.  The typeface is called OCR because it was designed to be easily and accurately recognized by optical character recognition (OCR) systems.
