Circus posters in Poland appeared for the first time at the beginning of the 60s of the 20th century on demand of ZPR (Zjednoczone Przesiębiorstwa Rozrywkowe) (United Entertainment Company) and is one of the most interesting phenomena in the Polish school of poster.

Circus posters were not intended to advertise the specific performances.
They were also not a literal illustration of the circus. Their goal was to donate through the atmosphere and symbol of the circus metaphor. Humor, wit, grace, and expression are their salient features.

Circus posters, created in the 1960s and 1970s, became a species of art independent of their display functions. They gained great popularity and recognition abroad, especially in the US.

Early implementations or posters from the 60 ‘s are the exception. Low and, on the other hand, a broad audience and the beauty and uniqueness of designs make these posters always of interest and admiration.
