Political Reality Map

This map by Edith Parker is an example of her extensive Political Reality maps. This one shows a zoomed in view of Australia and the western Pacific Ocean. These maps are designed to show an accurate representation of the earth as well as certain cultural qualities of each area. The legend  allows the user to understand the relative population sizes of each area, established and disputed political boundaries, and transit routes. All cutural features are shown in red. Parker made a series of these maps as well as several editions of globes starting.
