NS - Alltag im Lebensborn

1

“NS - Alltag im Lebensborn” is a poster produced by the VAKAT company, located in Bremen, Germany in 2001.  The poster highlights a woman breastfeeding a child and translates to, “Everyday in Lebensborn,” which was a Nazi SS program started in 1935 by Heinrich Himmler to boost the birthrate of Aryan children. The poster is meant to show Lesbenson a perfect utopia for pregnant women to raise their Aryan children. It painted a perfect picture of supporting SS officers' families and unmarried mothers, but at the same time also kidnapping and Germanizing children from occupied areas. It encouraged women to have children for the Reich and made it seem as if it was the perfect nurturing environment, but it played into Nazi eugenics. Underneath the surface,  Lesbensdon reinforced racial heirarchy to the Aryan race and separated children from their families.
