This is an ad for The Rising Moon bookstore found in the UNC Charlotte special collections archive. The Rising Moon was an LGBTQ bookstore in Charlotte owned by Sue Henry, a prominent Lesbian activist in the area who was also the first Lesbian to run for mayor in the city. The bookstore served as an unofficial LGBTQ community center for individuals in Charlotte.
