Programa Chá Dançante

1

Event program called ‘Chá Dançante’. This particular one had Pepita Sansalvador and Orquestra Toselli as guests of the September 22nd, 1946 soirée.

‘Chá Dançante’ means dancing tea. It was an event that consisted of an afternoon of dancing to the sound of a live orchestra or band, usually held in salons, casinos or hotels. The event took place in the late afternoon and, as the name suggests, was accompanied by tea and other light drinks, as well as snacks. This kind of social events were very popular  in the 1920s to 1950s, especially in Europe.
