Little Rascals Comic Cover
Little Rascals (later renamed Oriental Heroes) was first published in 1970 by Tony Wong Yuk-long. It was the first manhua (Chinese comics) to feature action and fighting, inspiring other artists at the time.
The story features young people living in Hong Kong fighting gangsters and criminals and involves themes of brotherhood and fighting for justice. People criticised the graphic violence depicted in the series and other similar manhua, eventually leading to the enactment of the Indecent Publication Law in 1975, which banned explicit violence in manhua.
