Japanese designer Kōhei Sugiura is an innovative graphic designer who combines culture with data visualization. Inspired by cosmological traditional diagrams and mythology he reimagines data in a modern way showcasing spatial depictions and time lapse data with 3D outlines and 2D features. His work expands beyond books and graphics to posters, stamps, magazines and more, bringing data into more diverse areas outside typical textbook settings.

Sugiura expresses his curiosity for data and visual systems through graphic design and historic examples of diagrams, taking this knowledge and implementing it into his own work. Pushing the bounds of design, data, science and art.
