Maryjo Koch is the author and illustrator for the book Bird Egg feather Nest. Filled with handwritten fount and stunning watercolor imagery.  Made in memory of her children Wendy, sunny, Jonathan the books play with text cratering a beautiful and thoughtfully placed imagery.  Maryjo uses her art to play with the text giving it a fun and playful on page sixteen the hummingbird has a curved fount mixed with a color pencil shading with the B in bird percid to give the reader the feeling of the species. 

Within her titles she uses different design types from history but most standing out to me is its Gaelic Typefaces mixed in with styles from art nouveau. With text filled in boxes with borders of flowers and elaborate design some have it’s found wrapped in the art itself. Maryjo always uses influential woman in her design such as Marie Antoinette and from Greek mythology queen Leda.
