Constructivism design was made to reflect modern industrial societies and urban spaces, specifically started in Soviet areas. The movement rejected decorative and ornamented styles in favor of the industrial assemblage of materials and imagery. In some cases, rare for its time, female artists and designers worked alongside, and were almost considered ‘equals’ to their male colleagues, which brought about new ideas, designs, and ways of thinking in terms of design.

Maria Bri-Bein was a member of TIURKH (Association of Southern Russian Artists), and she was also a member of AKhRR (Association of Artists of Revolutionary Russia). This piece was a poster for the Mastery of Technology (ZOT) program.
