Infographic from An Investigation into the Physical Properties of Books by W. A. Dwiggins and L. B. Siegfried, 1919. Extracted from book published for the Society of Calligraphers in Boston. Dwiggins at the time was serving as the society's secretary.
The book's introduction states that the report was generated following a designated committee from the Society of Printers' examination of all books published in America since from 1910 to 1919. It reads, “This examination forced upon the investigators the conclusion that 'All Books of the present day are Baldy Made.' The conclusion was unanimous.”
