Lithographic Designs
This image contains a series of lithographic designs by Hara Hiromu. As a highly prominent figure in the early field of Graphic Design in Japan, the kinds of Art Nouveau and Art Deco inspired design work Hara was experimenting with in this image can still be seen reflected in the modern field of Graphic Design in Japan today. The photograph contains some abstract printed shapes, as well as three styles of typography. The one on the furthest left reads ‘design collection’ in a particularly blocky type design. The one in the center reads ‘Lithographic’ in a seemingly Art Deco inspired type design, while the last one in the far right corners reads ‘Hiro Hara’ in a more Art Nouveau inspired type design. The variety of influences and types of experimentation Hara was performing with his work is quite evident in this image.
