The Dayton Art Institute was officially named in 1930, but began as the Dayton Museum of Arts in 1919. The earliest record of it having a website was in December of 1998, but it was likely published earlier.
This site is interesting because the old site served the same purpose as the current site. It was made so that visitors could easily access information about the museum.
Information people would be accessing on the site included general information, special exhibitions, permanent exhibitions, calendar events, music performances at the museum, volunteer opportunities, membership information, comments and questions, and information about tickets.
The center of the page displays a graphic of the building and a statue with the text: "Dayton Art Institute; 80 Years; 1919-1999; IN PRAISE OF NATURE
ANSEL ADAMS AND THE PHOTOGRAPHERS OF THE AMERICAN WEST".
