日宣美展(Japan Advertising Artists Club Exhibition)
This poster is for the 16th Exhibition of Japan Advertising Artists Club held in MoMat, funded by Keio Department. The Japan Advertising Artists Club was a former Japanese art organization founded in 1951 and dissolved in 1970. It was Japan’s first post war nationwide professional association of graphic designers.
The poster is designed by Tadanori Yokoo, it primarily uses yellow as a background colour, there are blue decorations with white flowers, symmetrically laying on the top. The title Exhibition of Japan Advertising Artists Club(日宣美展) is in the top centre of the poster. Underneath it, a fish painted with green, red and blue jumps out of the ocean. Below the fish, is a motif of the rising sun in red with symmetrical decoration of green waves on both sides. Information of the exhibition are placed at the bottom.
