In the Oct. 28, 1964, edition of the SNCC: The Student Voice newsletter,  discussed the importance of voting, explained where voting was identified the candidates the organization recommended. These newsletters were produced and printed traditionally,  with photos reproduced using the halftone process. Its hierarchy is extremely clear, using bold sans serif type for titles and headlines. The modular layout adapts to the content of each issue while remaining recognizable and easy to read. Readability was especially important because the publication circulated among college campuses and provided information to the national news media.
